A Ripple In Time

Into smooth bright water, a stone is tossed by one small boy whose day is nearly gone. The stone, beneath small ripples, now is lost while on those ripples drifts a lovely swan. The fisher boy can see the bird’s white wings have caught a glint of sunlight from the sky, and in the breeze they gleam while rippling. Beneath the swan, a fish is passing by. undulating silver in reflected sun. The boy’s sweet laughter ripples, for the fish is caught just as the afternoon is done, fulfilling his most current fervent wish. One stone’s throw, then the fish was on his line! Bright rewards appear in a ripple in time.

It brought back memories of my son skipping and tossing stones and of course fishing. He never seemed to catch any though. So my husband would take him to a trout farm so he could catch a fish. The most expensive trout I had ever eaten. A wonderful images and a great poem for this contest. Warm Smiles, Connie

Spot on it with this sonnet, you have given us a jewel. Like a skillful carpenter, your pen's a mighty tool. You've seen beyond the water line into the depths so cool. A fish now caught on a boy's line becomes his dinner's fool. Just rhyming, a little timing, trying not to drool. :)
