Steel eyes stared in my head as I watched my world shudder
My heart turned to ice and i lived in a frozen waste
Cold winds blew and my steel eyes searched for the exit
I screamed night sweats
Pin drops made me startle
Where is the danger? My brain fired
Looking back in my head through frosty windows
Poking the tip of my toe in the murky waters of trust
Slanted eyes warily expecting lightning strikes
whilst never ending Bolts of thunder echoed around in my ears
Me waving my dagger around to defend myself against invisible foes
Don’t feel pity for me because i fell after the ground shook
I always had one good eye
And my heart.
Balance regained after years of bargaining for peace
I wiped the slate clean and I found that warm spot
I rode the envy train and found a more grateful tone
I stopped wishing for fairness
And found my own equality
I Realized I am a warrior
I’d like to see you battle what i did
And still scream out
“Life is great I am blessed!!!”
I see the tall tree swaying in the wind
Proud of its height
Believing it weathered well
Who axed your bark?
Who chopped your beautiful branches beyond your control?
I may be twisted and slightly warped,
But I passed go more times than you
Even if never reaching the end
I began and began and began
I am still beginning
And I may still shake ripples and scrunch in a ball
But I iron out flat and I spin divinely.
