The scenic route

It seems for our journey through life a road has been paved
That some say we must travel for our souls to be saved
Well that might be the path for the average man
But It's not for me I have my own plan
I'll make my own road probably pave it with doubt
But I'll get where I'm going I always figure it out
I think our time on this earth Is just a short stint
Filled with too many judgments and rules made to be bent
The decisions I make are not always the best
Usually going against the flow of the rest
I like the dark corners being on the edge of the cliff
I never want to look back on life and wonder what did I miss
So if ever you can't find me I'm okay without doubt
Those who know me well know I'm taking the scenic route
