Sonnet Sorrows and Tanka Blankas

Can’t write me a good sonnet
It’s a bee in my bonnet
The words will NOT rhyme
It is such a crime
Others have gone and done it!

Piece of pie with the quatrains
Them beauties tickle my brains
I just cannot stop
The words they just pop
But dang sonnets sure are pains!

It’s clear that I’m no Shakespeare
But I try, now what’s the fear?
Might fall on my face
And be a disgrace
A laugh for many a peer!

And then there is the tanka
Help me, or I’ll just spank ya
Keep wanting to rhyme
I get stuck each time
Praise me, and I will thank ya!

Don’t let me start on haiku
I try with so much ado
That blasted third line
Just won’t turn out fine
You’re laughing now, aren't you?

I'm definately not helping you Auntie and I'm ready when you are, lol. I know what you mean here, I get all confuddled with it myself, though you seem to be doing just fine. Take care, Richard

Richard....I see you woke up on the naughty side of the bed this morning! ;) Be good! I have written a sonnet, and lots of Haiku! God good posts, so....but I'm not satisfied myself. I'm the hardest to please!

Perhaps not Shakespeare but definitely Edward Lear! (the inventor of the limerick). LOL! Everyone's mind just works differently... at the end of the day it's not so much how you dress it up as much as WHAT you're saying. Your title is almost a poem in itself, very funny! It was so nice of you to stop by and read so many of my poems... I loved your, dare I say, 'dripping honesty', that you showered me with ;)

Yes....well, dripping honesty is the best, my dear! You are the one who coined the phrase. I like it! Talk about titles...that sure got my attention! :)

For me the Haiku is the most difficult. Debbie says simple as porridge but my brain wants to make a souflett.

Ok Richard. You've always encouraged me to join contests. Now...it's my turn to encourage you! Want to see a haiku from you ASAP! You can do it! :) So what if it is souffletish! All the better!

Damn the 3rd line! LOL! This was awesome. Don't ever sell yourself short, like a incomplete Senryu. ;)
