Twilight

Flashlamp tracings trap and dazzle,
dancing in the twilight. Children scatter
through the meadow, flip-flops flapping,
eager beavers chasing dreams.

Fast the flow, the stream blinks
back a hint of moonlight,
and the torches' criss cross patterns
splatter 'til the beams converge.

Nets are plied, and mason jars
are dunked beneath the rippling surface,
small fish wriggle in confinement,
kids' excitement and delight.

Safe and snug, imaginations
settle as they say goodnight.

Oh gosh, Keith. "Flip flops flapping" "fish wriggle in confinement." You are your own sweet original poet, but I cannot help but think of Dylan Thomas. I must read on. love, Kathy
