Tanka 3

a ladybug was perched
and from the tip of a grass-blade
she flew away -
I blinked in awe at the sight
then cleaned the dirt from my ears

Hi, timothy, thanks for what you said about my bug poem. as for bees, I totally agree with you. My sisters and I sat on a nest of wasps when we were very young and I just remember getting to the house before all the others. the rest of my childhood I was deathly afraid of bees but now when I see one, I just stay calm because I found out that they "sense" our fears.

That is true. Though I do wonder why bees want so bad to sting you... it's really kind of ironic how their one defense mechanism KILLS them in the end. Cause it takes out part of their guts a long with the stinger... unless of course they're a wasp (then they can sting all they want).

Pretty pretty pretty! Ladybugs are my favorite insects! Planning to write a children's book on them one day. Got some ladybug stuffed animals on display in my office! Yes...I'm a child at heart. Loved this! Thanks, Timothy for all your visits and posts...especially the last one! :) You don't know how happy that made me.

Good luck on your book, sounds like an exciting project! Ladybugs are one of the few insects that will actually help your garden instead of destroy it.
