Everyone ask her why she has guarded her soul,
why she won't let herself lose control.
Her secrets kept hidden way beyond our sight,
let me take you back to that horrible night.
She was young and wild, a heart built by fun,
she was too young to be drinking with the older ones.
At 14 she should have stayed in her bed,
but, that night she learned a lesson instead.
Too strong of liquor, and no responsible adult,
left her young self open to an unwanted assult.
She doesn't remember how she even got to her room,
I guess those events are casted out, leading to doom.
When she awoke, she wasn't innocent anymore,
The proof of that, was on top of her on the floor.
No she didn't scream or fight, she didn't even tell,
She just let a part of her soul get sent to hell.
She laid there several nights, when he would return,
and never complained, just let the tears give her eyes a burn.
What happened to her? What finally set her free?
she built a wall around her shame, so noone could see.
When the truth came out upon an open eye,
She let them think she wanted it, though it was a lie.
Noone protected this girl, noone hugged her or held her hand,
Not because they didn't love her but, because she knew they wouldn't understand.
She allowed them to blame her and call her bad names,
all of which just added to her shame.
She cried alone in the dead of the night,
wore a scarlet letter in the daylight.
Even her mother, believed her to be,
and she casted judgement for, shame is all she could see.
This is why she can't open her heart,
this is why she is always falling apart,
This is why she can't let you in,
because, she has taken credit for an unspeakable sin.
Several years her senior, and almost double her hieght,
that man got away with what he did all those nights.
There is no desire in her heart to report the crime,
Of the murder of a child after all this time.
Some say rape isn't a serious offense,
but, it is the worst of murders, the murder of innocence
Forever its victim is alert and watching all about,
because, trust becomes something they simply live without.
She will never tell you the whole story, for she is so ashamed,
thats why my friends, I won't say her name.
Dear friends, please keep these words in the back of your head,
"ALL RAPE VICTIMS ARE JUST 'THE SURVIVING DEAD'"
