When Rebee played her flute She was the Queen of the coffee house rhapsody Red lips poised on silver- plated fantasy Her fingers licking keys for notes that I had never heard before Notes that rushed like light from Rebee 's soul And fell into my darkened world Like messengers of love my heart could not remand I think she always knew that I was a dancing bear Waiting in awkward anticipation Always waiting for one more crescendo of loving to begin
