Flat Surfaces

                                 Flat Surfaces

                                 Flat surfaces
                                 The scourge
                                From nowhere
                                Things emerge
                                Things you say
                             You’ve never seen
                                     Declare
                           They’ve always been
                                      There
                                  Undisturbed
                                   Till the eye
                             Becomes perturbed
                                   At the sight
                                  And the dust
                                 And you might
                                 Yes, you must
                                   Brush it off
                                 Swipe it clear
                                    Ready for
                               More to appear

                                   R.D.Seal.

Such thought provoking words! Dust is always such a mysterious thing, how you don't know it's existence until there's a thick coat of it on our counter-tops. You put a lot of thought into this metaphor... very cool!

ooo., Richard, i like this free-verse poem... The flat surface of life is not as easy to dust or swipe clear. Love the poem...Linda

You've taken this from the negative side, Richard....very well written, but flat surfaces can also bring joy of words of affirmation.
