What Happened to My Prayer LIfe

What Happened to My Prayer Life? A friend came to me filled with despair. He was wanting someone to join him in prayer! There was something that was “getting him down.” This was a neighbor, on my side of town. At first, I listened to what he had to say. And then wished he would just “go away.” I knew he needed help. I “didn’t have the time.” “Why should I worry?” “His problem isn’t mine?” The spirit of God began to get my attention. I was then focused into a different direction! God asked me why I wasn’t going to engage in prayer. I simply answered; “I’m too busy to care.” My heart broke as I seen the sadness on his face. My life was touched, by God’s compassion and grace! My prayer life that day, took on a new meaning! I reached out to this person and began speaking! I prayed for him, like I never prayed before! It was people like him, that God put me here for! I felt God’s power all over me! At that moment… I sought Jesus’ power and his blood’s atonement! My friend walked away, renewed and changed! But it was my prayer life that was re-arranged! The time I spend with God is time well spent! As I seek him more, and confess and repent! I’m so glad that I spend more time in prayer. God loves me, and is always there! May I encourage you, to do the same! Won’t take some time, and call on Jesus’ name? By Jim Pemberton

I love this! You captured the essence of our insufficient self-reliance and pride and how God moves to change all that.
