The thorny crown, its bloody trail,
salts the Lamb’s eyes then christens nails,
wounds weep for a mercy denied,
Grace under siege, their words deride
our Savior, so worn, so frail.
The crowd ignores His mother’s wail,
a disciple moans, his young face pale,
consecration has beautified
                             The thorny crown

The tomb is empty, hate has failed,
He is risen, our Emmanuel,
Son of man, flogged and crucified,
Son of God in Heaven presides,
Love has triumphed, let each heart hail
                              The thorny crown

Love sent to Soupers of all faiths and beliefs.

May you have time to reflect on love in all its glorious forms.
