23C

The digital face displays a naughty grin. 5:23am.
Sliding into seat 23C, I double-check my ticket just to make sure:

Seat 23C on Flight 753241698, with a designated lift-off time of 6:08am.

Beside me, chuckles Robert Anton Wilson's spirit:

"See, this is exactly why we appointed you as a Cardinal(the bird?)
in The Church of The 23 Enigma. You are a perfect fit.
Son, this is a destiny you cannot change,
so why not just make the best of it.

The plane might crash, be refurbished or decommissioned,
but the flight itself doesn't ever stop. Ever.
Once you get on, get in, the flight stays on an infinite course.
Thank you for flying with: Synchronicity 23 Airways. Please, enjoy your flight."

Oh the plane's out of fuel. We'll have to stop somewhere... to refuel. Any ideas, where?

Interesting piece here...I'm with Andrea on this one except for the lucky number being 5. I love the second to the last line. It reminds me that the sky is the limit...only one life to live. Yep, that's true..especially with "son, this is a destiny you cannot change." Serious motivation right there...enjoyed Chris

yep! Synchronicity 307 Airways! HA! Have you ever read Carl Jung's book on synchronicity? Very interesting stuff, yet he claims it to be so scarce, yet for many... it is a common day occurrence. hugs, Catie :)

I have to google about Robert Anton Wilson: he was a serious case! Im going to try to find his books in the library. His last words: "You have all reminded me that despite George W. Bush and all his cohorts, there is still a lot of beautiful kindness in the world." A genius! LOL!

Robert Anton Wilson has many brilliantly interesting words. If you are going to look into R.A.W., it is helpful to understand how he tackles a lot of his writing. For instance, not everything he might claim as 'fact' and/or 'history', is to be taken too seriously, because he purposefully plays around with such things to fit into his overall philosophy concerning Discordianism. Robert Anton Wilson even helped organize religions/orders that are really only spoofs satirizing religion(religious and social conditioning). He was definitely very clever, and a visionary ahead of his time. Most of the world wasn't even ready for his thoughts and imagination.

I am not familar with the symbolisms in this poem. but I think I kind of know what it is about. 2 plus 3, for me personally is a really good number!! It equals my lucky five!!!

Being in an airplane can be really scary. I feel you. What always makes me feel better, in addition to the spirit of Robert Anton Wilson, is a nice little cup of Sprite and chewing gum upon lift-off.

Though, I'll continue knocking on wood....even if this requires a few light knocks upon my wooden head.

I've always enjoyed flying....and not only in planes. I find planes to be a lot safer than automobiles.

With regards to one of the metaphors I am going for with the plane, your comment gives me a healthy chuckle. Yes, the spirit of Robert Anton Wilson can help get through many of life's synchronicities.
