In mid flight she glances below and views the Emerald dragon,
Lying on the grass Ablaze
She flies down concerned
Her feathers catch the shadows and they shield him from the burning sun
The phoenix felt his forehead
He looks up at her pitifully.
She led him to the cool waters
To gently soothe his fever
On the grassy bank He reached out to her
Arms around her waist,
Head on her breast,
She stoked his head lovingly.
“You have the strength of a thousand men”
She whispered gently
“You have the power of many armies tucked inside of your breastplate”
“Your forked tongue withstands the fire you breathe”
“And your jaw crushes demons ripping, slicing and devouring all of your enemies.”
“If you die, you will die in battle”
“But I will never let you die of a broken heart my friend.”
She softly kissed his forehead
Phoenix Waits patiently by the river, while dragon retreats into the comforting waters below.
The water boiled.
The lotus blossoms opened.
