Blessed are those who are persecuted
					because of righteousness,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

					Rest in peace, Amanda Todd

Tormented again, a fresh cycle begins,
over and over the vicious celebrate
as her heart is impaled on a thousand pins.

Alone, always alone, an angel, fallen
rebranded by peers in a circle of hate,
tormented again, a fresh cycle begins.

The harassed, every outcast, will never win,
and the cruel prevail, their words desecrate
as her heart is impaled on a thousand pins.

Once more, she attempts to grow thicker skin,
Once more, their taunts assail, how despair grates,
tormented again, a fresh cycle begins.

This loop is endless and mangles a small chin,
loathing is tenacious, apathy just waits
as her heart is impaled on a thousand pins.

She will leave a love note for her next of kin,
It won’t stop, it won’t stop, tears berate,
tormented again, a fresh cycle begins
as her heart is impaled on a thousand pins.

*Dedicated to Amanda Todd, a victimized teen who posted her story on youtube a month before she committed suicide. She was only 16. Let us teach our children compassion. Let us ensure that we always walk in other’s shoes. To break your heart, please watch… but warning, it will change you

What a powerful write Cyndi. You are such a kind person to move beyond simply writing fiction and pull these meaningful happenings from our everyday world and giving some purpose to your writes.

yes, this broke my heart. I've been the strangest....of places.... but I am a strong woman, but even for me, it was horrifying. I remember telling them that their words and carelessness could cause a weaker person to take their own life....but of course...they thought I....was the crazy one. It really breaks my heart that no one was there for her. No one. :(
