About This Poem
The Player
The player plays the game,
till the challenge is gone.
The candle loses it's flame,
his love is withdrawn.
His impact left branded,
on her cheeks and her heart.
Her tears fall stranded,
her heart torn apart.
The warnings were there,
but she failed to heed.
More than an affair,
she declared her need.
He left her naked silently,
the cost of the game does not
come free.
