Impossible Reality

I stand in the space of the artist
Trying to imagine his thoughts.
Stretching my mind to wonder
On each line he draws-
Layers of mirrored illusions
Dimensions of confusion
A grid among many shapes
Morphed into birds of flight
Interlocking black and white
An impossible reality I feel.
It's a cerebral experience
I can't explain adequately in words.
It lifts me into a higher plain
Within the hands of a genus.
M. C. Escher an extraordinaire.

Thank you for dropping by with your congratulations on Spindled Mettle's win. Now for this: I went back and looked at the picture...you've descibed the feelings and the the confusion I felt at the artists work as well. I like where you took this poem. It should score well !!

I think you are much more into art than I am. it sounds very modern art. Is it? Good tribute for Mr. Escher. (also that is great that you draw too!)

Went to college for drawing and painting. Etcher is quite out there with his drawing. Although I'm more a realistic artist. I love his imagination and his technique. Thanks for your comment. Warm Smiles, Connie
