The Chase

                                The Chase
                    Sitting by the window,
                    Light snow coming down.
                    Watching two brown and one
                     grey.

                    High above,from tree to tree.
On wires nimble as can be.
A game of tag, fluffy tails swishing,
as they chase each other round
                    and round.

A minuscle sound will make them
                    scurry to higher ground.
Statue like they sit, still as can be.
Till all perceived threats are gone.
                    Then the game goes on.

Nice poem, I used to love those squirrels when I lived in England, but when I went back in 98 every one seemed to hate them for some reason. I don't think we get them here in Oz. Loved your poem....peter

So cute to watch the animals out the window in winter. I know we still have so much snow and we had a storm again this morning. Spring feels a long way off. Last year the farmers had the crops planted and this year we still have 5 feet of snow to go. love phyl

They have to be squirrels, and they sort of hibernate at times but when they come out it's such fun to watch the energy. Enjoyed the game of tag!

What a pleasure reading this Anne! Always love to read your new ones. A big big thanks for all the favs! This poem really has lovely imagery. A drifting snow flake is something I haven't ever seen so the image it brings to my mind is exciting.
