The Windmiller's Guest

From his lofty perch, his favorite viewing place
He saw her approach before he could clearly see her face

A charming lady was she, dressed in her day gown
A straw bonnet lusciously adorned her beautiful crown

He considered her his beloved darling
She cherished their time wanting minutes to stretch forever

If he proposed marriage, would her answer be yes
A bride of a humble miller, his offering detest

Adoringly she looked upon his handsome chest
Love would win in the end, she would not longer be just his day guest
