About This Poem

GHOST

GHOST

bleak and dark that house
a single window lit up
on the second floor

i’m denied the door
may only inhabit woods
surrounding the place

no comfort no lace
only weird hooting of owls
my company keep

woods so dark and deep
the lonely space where I died
left my chosen one

shot from lover’s gun
now i haunt the two of them
on each moonlit night

gazing at the light
howling with the timber wolves
maddened by the sight

Sounds like a hauntingly fearful place, Daver...betcha nobody goes there on Halloween or at any other time.:( Great imagery to paint this ghostly scene. Keep well....Love, Mikki
