Anything Happen While I Was Gone

Anything happen while I was gone? I asked my dear Cathie today Was sitting there in my big easy chair When off to dreamland I strayed Met some very interesting people Marilyn, Elvis and Liz Taylor John Wayne, Uncle Miltie, and Deano Even Frankie boy as a sailor These guys were the 'perfect' antidote For anything that happens to ail you They sang, they acted, they made us laugh Happiness came shining through There aren't very many like that today I miss 'em all a whole bunch Marilyn and I were about to make love When Cathie woke me up for lunch! © Jack Ellison 2013

Hope the wifie doesn't end up reading those last 2 lines, lol! You have a lighthearted sense of humor and your poetry really reads easy... it's almost as if you were just talking normally and the rhymes came along for the ride all by themselves. Though I'm 18 I much prefer the music of the 70s to the majority of today's modern "music", so I can relate to this a bit.

I am soooo impressed my new young friend! You neither look or sound like someone so young! You are wise beyond your years! It is also so welcoming to meet a young person with such a deep understanding and appreciation of life! Your good friend, Jack

I envy you, Sir, for Marilyn the blonde, Something for years we can correspond - For sure your dreams are a sweet escape, Into a world lovelier than a seascape - To an era that once was Golden by all means, And now we only live it via old dusty screens!........... Very sensational poem, Sir. I loved it. Somehow, I always feel I belong to a past era hehe!

"Somehow, I always feel I belong to a past era" I know exactly what you mean, my good man. I keep up with all the latest technology and the newest gadgets but there's an element in my life that is missing! Thanks for your very kind words, my friend Cheers!

You Sir are a true master of the pen. One could learn much from you, reading your poems from beginning to end. I shall keep you on my watch list and if I ever despair I will remember your wisdom and take greater care.

The world happened while you were making your own world... One you can catch up with on CNN and the other with an afternoon nap... My Trolls say it's Siesta time... Yawn.... I'll join you in a snow ball fight.

Tell me it's not liver day, lol. I see a theme today. I guess I'm going to have to hide the serious side and make good fun of somebody so you can laugh. I'll probably end up choosing myself or a faximilie thereof to steal some words from the three stooges lol.
