About This Poem
In Winter's Dusk
In winter’s dusk so hopeless and forlorn,
I heard a new bird’s song; it gave me pause.
Though earth and heaven both had seemed to mourn
in winter’s dusk so hopeless and forlorn,
a sanguine melody that night was born.
I pondered but I could not guess the cause!
In winter’s dusk so hopeless and forlorn
I heard a new bird’s song; it gave me pause.
