The swallows are in fact gearing up to leave for the northern hemisphere - it is autumn here now. I wrote this poem from memory in honour of spring and new beginnings. My husband and I stared a new life (new beginnings) a year ago when we got married, hence the last haiku. Thank you for the mail.
