Epiphany

The bottle stood replete and proud; a golden lustre, in its prime. Temptation lured, she filled her glass and went to sip, just one more time. Aghast at what her fate revealed, in all its awful detail seen. The truth unfurled before her eyes, a life of hell, grotesque, obscene. A-feared of what was yet to come, aware of what had gone before, with trembling hand, she took the glass and dashed it on the kitchen floor. ~
