Until Debt Do We Part

Until Debt Do We Part

By Elton Camp

Finances bring trouble in married life
Often introduces all manner of strife

If to marriage, different debt level is brought
Who’s responsible should be given thought

Different spousal values about spending
Brings conflict that can be never ending

If one believes in regular monthly saving
But the other spends it all and isn’t caving

Couples keeping secrets about how they spend
Causes friction & brings the marriage to an end

At times when income proves to be unstable
Harmony between mates can easily disable

Good communication money problems can reduce
For failure to discuss it openly, there’s no excuse

Money seldom directly causes divorce, of course
But it can be a very powerful contributing force
