About This Poem

Shot Forsooth

Alas, Abe Lincoln was fatally shot forsooth,

By that nefarious cad John Wilkes Booth!

Booth was shot by Sergeant Boston Corbett,

Sending him on his well-deserved eternal orbit!

Sergeant Boston Corbett - didn't know his name either. I too love Oh Captain My Captain. I think my knowledge of Jack Ruby is indelible because of my age and actually seeing it live on TV. love your twist on the entire subject. love, Kathy
