About This Poem
When I Found Me
Time didn't follow me down.
That road kept even, straight through your town.
From days lost in drink and stupor.
Grandiose impressions of ego damn super.
My head did shake the cob webs fell.
To arise from deep dark addictive spell.
Just one more time would bring cold end.
Deep into hell my soul I'd send.
When I found me my life was a bloody mess.
Deaths doorbell rang I must confess.
So now I keep my vanity.
Under check so I can see.
My past mistakes I won't re live.
My honesty is all I give.
So in this way, I will always see.
The grateful day that I found me.
