A Bitter Plight

There, watch, the clouds part and light shafts blackest night
particles of doss drift through a ray of white.

Ah, revelation unasked for, and unwanted,
coming endlessly unasked, and never daunted.

I see the bitter blight of man's neglect lay
upon the once fertile field of summer hay.

I see a mighty ocean writhe and foam, die
and n'er a voice is lifted, n'er an angry cry.

I see children put their parents out to die
and parents who accost their children with lies.

Ah, revelation unasked for, and unwanted,
coming endlessly unasked, never daunted.

Perfect! This is art, hon. Hope it tops the list. I gave it a go (a 360 take on yours) but wrote it too late, which is a-okay, cause we both know its all about the write... still...I do want to see you take home a gold for this. Bold. Deep. xox Dee (long weekend here. Family weekend. LOL.. which means MORE work for me, in a way... more meals, dishes, and the two of them can destroy a room in 0.2 seconds.... still, we are having lunch OUT. A treat for moi)

A profound write, Debbie. You are doing just what the prophets of old did with revelations....voicing them so that change can take place. God bless.

Awesome poem, Deb. Revelations, and even visions (I would not call them the same thing, but different) they are often, most often leaning toward the negative, if not down right horrifying. Unasked, and unwanted, yeah... that's what makes your poem so different. Very, very nice. Love and hugs, catie :)

Holy plight! I can relate to this poem for too many reasons. "I see children put their parents out to die/and parents who accost their children with lies." So powerful! The repetition works very well... Im going to fav this one! I love it! Ruben.
