About This Poem
Imagine
Imagine
Imagine if the sky never again was lit by the sunshine
Only a galaxy of stars would only exist up high
Would they spread enough illuminating light?
For us to see the beauty of past skies
Imagine if the stars up above suddenly burned out
From trying so hard to replace the sunshine back into our eyes
Blackness will only be left, eliminating all shades of grey
Taking away signs of life that used to exist in the skies
Imagine the birds wondering where they will fly to
Now that the darkness appears everywhere
Will they break their wings not being able to see in their flight?
Their freedom taken away from flying in the air
Imagine at this moment that this all could become real
How would we live in a world that we can no longer see?
I close my eyes in darkness and embrace the world today
For the earth still seen might someday become a memory
