About This Poem
Lonely Tears
Lonely Tears
Lonely tears stream down his wrinkled face
Missing his long time love deep within his soul
So many warm memories, too precious to erase
Became his identity in the years that grew old
He stares at her picture, the loving smile she showed
He slowly touches her face from its glass window
The smile that used to give him strength to live his life with hope
The reason to start a brand new day with someone he loved so
Lonely tears fall down on the picture’s glass
Drowning the image of their love out of its memory
A love he thought was strong enough to always last
Perhaps in a different dimension that only past lovers could see
He puts down the picture and allows his tears to dry
Knowing that crying won’t bring her back to this world as a cure
Leading his heart to bleed deep wounds which eventually leads his soul to die
From lonely tears that drowned in the memories of her
