A hope, a skiff and a load of faith

Hope creaks like an old wooden boat.
Stepping in there is that sound,
unmistakable,
a give as planks groan
under the burden of a new load.
Accepting it on faith,
that it will not sink.
Rocking a bit with the additional weight.
Finding balance as you sit in the skiff.
Picking up the oar, casting off,
a splash of water,
as you take one last look,
you’re off.

Very creative metaphor--one keeps going back to check---another mark of good poetry.

A provoking and well thought out analogy. It gets me thinking that an old boat really knows what its doing...otherwise, it would have given up.
