Covered loveless

 Shhhhhh..

take a minute
to listen..

it's faint
sorta like

a whisper

can you hear it?

there's a child
crying
in the distance

just out of reach
a futile existence

without the assistance
of its mother

covered
loveless..

born to perform
in the chior
of quiet angels

humming hope
choked

by fairytales...

i wish I could read her
a story
calmly comb her hair back
gently lift her chin

i would tell her
that worth doesn't come
in a bottle
that monsters get scared too
and mommy was just

born broken

but

I can't seem to find that child anymore

Hello Kimmy Just saw your reply. Not upset , just like to keep it less formal..One reason vanished to Costa Rica years ago..Tired of formalities. Much less formal down here, Senora or is it Senorita? Rick

You got a style worth knowing Kimmy - the concept in the title of this work alone is fulfulling - you employ one of my favorite poetic instruments exceedingly well, alliteration, or caydance - I appreciate what you are reckoning - this is beautiful political poetry, and therefore spiritual - J.A.B. %

Born to perform in the choir of quiet angels. That is beyond profound. You have a definate talent. I could spout lectures on structure and form and everything of the sort. But you are doing one thing right. You are being you. And that is all that counts. Keep it up because it's very good. Rockman

First of all I want to thank you for your comment. Secondly, I'm fairly n Iew to this place myself, but there are some wonderful writers that are helpful and inspiring. I have only been writing a little over a year. I've written more poems here in two months than the previous year. It helps being around great writers. I liked this poem, it's sad, but well written. Nice job.
