About This Poem

Coon Eyes Potato Stew

Coon Eyes Potato Stew

Will you remember this day she said
Then he spoke first words out his head
Coon Eyes Potato Stew
30 plus years, words tried and true

Coon eyes are for my big brown eyes
One into each others keeps us tied
Potato stew is what my mom cooked that night
30 plus years today, this poem I write

Words spoken from way back then
Spoken then, now, again and again
Coon Eyes, Potato Stew
Only means so much to me and my husband Blue.

A catchy title with a happy story behind it. I enjoyed it.
