About This Poem

My Last

Stand high dear friend you say.
Run to live another day.
She came to me in celestial dream.
Perhaps to be my Gypsy Queen.
My last. My last.

For all I know my love stands clear.
For this life brings lost hope not near.
Dashed away all chance of longing.
Brightened skies mark days belonging.

Each day my thoughts go out to her.
So many so, a solid blur.
Why not for I, to run the sea.
Set sail to distance shores that be.
Same as this turmoil tale, I can't express.
To not have slight, of her soft, caress.
My last. My last.

Alone I choose, for now I see.
Alone is what, was meant for me.
Disheartened crown, of unsung glory.
To end this winter nights, last story.
My last has ever been, my first.
My last felt love abreast, heart burst.

With hardened steel, and horse of iron.
My wheels will spin, with ease of trying.
When wind has firmed, my thoughts to clear.
My soul still runs, alone this year.
My last has ever been, my first.
My last will always feel, the worst.
My last has not been shown to me. My last I give my soul love free.
