About This Poem
A Look In The Mirror
Please indulge my lack of education.
I alone shoulder the blame.
Please ignore my unsophistication.
The absence of wealth and fame.
Could you tolerate my hypocrisy,
accept my fear of commitment?
Or my inabilities,
And my demonstrated poor judgement.
A closer look reveals a sense,
It's humor don't you see?
And if you open my gated fence,
You'll find a friend worthy.
So faults I have, they're sitting on my shelf.
The best thing in life, is to know thyself.
