Purple Chrysanthemums In The Snow

Purple chrysanthemum adrift on the snow
Falling by my window are flakes of snow
Tender shoots lay underneath the ground
Waiting for spring to heat up the ground

The old pine tree stands regal in the snow
Doily angels pressed down on virgin snow
A winter wonderland, I’m fantasy bound
Words are penned while I’m house bound

Later I will paint chrysanthemums in snow
Purple is a vibrant color up against the snow
My crystal vase is longing for a flower hoof
When spring does arrive, I’ll clear the roof

I’ll put my fingers in the soil and tend a Rose
I’ll have less time to write or speak in prose!
