Should It Be Done

Day after day I read words,
                              wisdom seen but never heard
As poets fill their pens
with ink of thought that never ends
We try to tell the world
                              of the madness to unfurl
Though thoughts can never be a gleam,
in anyones ones eyes if never seen
Perhaps we should take to the streets
                              where graffity scrawls dirty walls
To post words that will be seen
so open eyes can then get a gleam
Of the beauty and wisdom we hide inside,
that can effect and change peoples minds
Simple words that can be read,
                              by the pathways people tread
Words left on a canvas,
for no one to ever see
Might as well be left in a dark ally
                              where drunk people pee
Their eyes to blurry to see,
this message they need to read
For simple words won't change many hearts
if just written but never seen

Oh wow....this is so True and really great to read Dan. I love the image you portray in the poem about poems unwritten or shared being hidden in dark alleys for no one to see......when there are ppl in this world who need to see or could be uplifted to read. I like your idea Dan, instead of grafitti, we should pool together and write poetry on wall instead of pictures, if the cave men knew how to do it, so can we, bring out the furry chested men and the hairy legged women, roar! we must, I will stop shaving my legs as of now, will let you know when I'm ready to roar with you, Ra Ra! SMile! It's only me xxx

Hey Dan: Man!!! Another great poem. My favorite part is "for simple words won't change any hearts--if just written but never seen". Very heavy philosophy. Thank you so much for taking the time to read and comment on my poems. PEACE.
