I Watch and I Hear

I watch the world falling apart
from my television screen
I watch blood spill
And see things that are so unclean

I hear a new disaster coming
After each other
I hear the cries and prayers of
every widowed mother

I watch paralyzed as i see
another city explode
I watch in shock how
peoples sympathies erode

I hear the cries of children
who are homeless and alone
what will become of them when
they are fully grown?

I watch how cowardly
and self centered most leaders can be
i wonder where they'd run or hide
and how they would flee

I hear gunshots and screams
of people and children
I hear the laughter of these devils
who call themselves men

I watch these children
with no hope in their eyes
I watch as they observe how their
mother dies

I hear new terror attacks in more
cities and towns
I hear more and more of
these heartbreaking sounds

I watch how foolish
and greedy people can become
I watch the crimson on the floors
that tears at my hearts drum

I hear these leaders
speak of fairness and world peace
I hear their excuses and
apologies that i whish would just cease

I watch how parents teach their children
how to shoot and aim
I watch as they obey and walk
on these shadows of shame

I hear the cries of people
who want freedom from this world
I watch as they wish to die from
their environment thats swirled

I watch and want to lend
a helping hand
I watch and cry to myself
for these people in the land

I hear so much misery and
never ending violence
I hear woes and mourning
in this broken silence

I watch them with their tanks
and their guns
I watch them as they
shoot at a child in fear who runs

And as i watch and hear
i observe these things in me
And i have realized
that the worlds a scary place to be
