Entrancing Blues

Entrancing Blues

Mellowed tones fill the room
as an artist croons her Blues
A broken cadence of rhythmic magic
that seeps into the soul

It’s the blues, Man
It’s New Orleans
Home-grown
Spirit filled
Chasing
the blues
kinda
Blues

Soft lights cast silent shadows
with an atmospheric hush
Each note slipping through
and joining with your pulse

It’s the blues, Mam
It’s New Orleans
Home-grown
Spirit filled
Chasing
the blues
kinda
Blues

Loss of clarity over and done
Stifled by sweet pleasure
Rhythm and soothing verse
are Louisiana’s treasures

It’s the Blues, friends
It’s New Orleans
Home-grown
Spirit filled
Chasing
the blues
kinda
Blues

I can feel the tender tone of sweet requaint the blues bemoan. Of swamp rat soul to toodle loo. The trombone slide, the washboard too. A cajun mix of salty treats. The sound of heaven in those New Orleans streets. Bluesy, Debra. :)

Debra, I need to meet this man, of New Orleans. I don't think we have this kind of passion for music here in Texas. We sure need it. I hate it when the blues approach my days. A very mellow poem.. enjoyed~ PD
