Hallelujah
Hallelujah
A faith-lit path in the promethean land
Holding no wrath and ever at hand
You didn’t take kindly to it, did you?
Measuring out truth in doses of myth
How could one miss to be done with
To meld with the magic of hallelujah
Hallelujah…hallelujah
Hallelujah…hallelujah
There was no need for unusual hurry
Though caught in a malignant worry
Stealing the light from stars were you
Striving for miracles through dare-do’s
Reuse the old ruse through and through
Given once the heave-ho, the hallelujah.
Hallelujah….hallelujah
Hallelujah….hallelujah
And from the dark the blue bird sang
One heard its colors as out it rang
It did not declaim in haste like you
Shifting the forsaken to the forefront
Gifting hate to the mate upfront
Time to pay up one’s debts to hallelujah
Hallelujah….hallelujah
Hallelujah…hallelujah
The voice that made the wayfarer halt
The choice he wished without a fault
In the bylanes , detours crossed by you
Deprived of the lease that ran out of heat
Meeting to debate, and to again meet
Helped on the quest by reassuring hallelujah
Hallelujah…hallelujah
Hallelujah…hallelujah
Whoever it was that told of a truce
And the promise that would seduce
The blight that blinds all but you
Nowhere was it a neat entity
Wherever we searched for purity
To fall back at last tired on hallelujah
Hallelujah…hallelujah
Hallelujah …hallelujah
Shivering in the cold of river of sands
Sharing our paltry minds and hands
Basics are wearing thin for you
Suffering holocausts to arrive at last
Ashore and safe, to derive a blast
Drowning our agonies in hallelujah
Hallelujah…hallelujah
Hallelujah…hallelujah
