About This Poem
A Soul's Flame
~A Soul’s Flame~
When a soul’s flame surrenders to death
What else was existed why it could not burn?
Perhaps painful memories that suffocated its breath
Did the soul leave an imprint of a spark to someday return?
When a soul’s flame fades away
Where else can its passion flow?
Perhaps through the rays of hope to stay
To light up the life once there within a soul
A soul’s flame is burned in our fires from within
Meant to ignite old embers to be rebuilt from those we claim
Hope is designed to show its purpose for life once again to begin
Thus giving eternal existence of a soul’s flame
Without a flame to burn
The dreams within in us will stay asleep
Never will we wake in a place for their return
Where a flame was supposed to be...
