Torn

I’ve been torn apart
I’ve had a broken heart
My mind’s been dizzying low
I tried hard not to let it show

But no matter how much I would try
I lived my life as a lie
I had come to possess no sense
My life full of fiction and pretence

I survived behind a mask
Where living life was my toughest task
Every breath I took was a fight
To gain back some logical insight

Every place I would turn
I could find nothing new to learn
I needed something stable to grasp
My life hanging like a necklace without its clasp

So I turn to my trusty pen
And attempt to put myself together again
To search each and every thought
Trying to shake the depression that had me caught.
