Guns

The horror of the story stuns,
Another massacre with guns.

So many innocents are lost.
They paid the catastrophic cost.

But there are folks who stoutly say
Their guns and amunition stay

Or they and loved ones could be harmed.
They vow they must be fully armed.

Some of the folks who run the show,
Say that assault rifles must go.

The other side with different view,
Say guns don't kill, but people do.

They cannot find a common ground
And sensible answers are not found.

While they are wrangling and delay,
School children are the ones to pay.

When two sides argue and defer
More tragic incidents occur.

Congratulations on your win with this neatly written couplet! Everything in moderation! I can't agree with either extreme in this argument, but children should not be a bargaining chip in any case. People! RAY

I agree with Ilene, wise and beautifully said. And I believe you are among those who agree at least that assault rifles should be disallowed. In Utah they are rebelling against the gun controls. I just don't understand it.

Well said Joyce, we have just watched our evening news. Its show a young American age 6 or 7 girl with her pink hand gun and pink camouflage style assault rifle, are you telling me she is going to be the protector and needs to shoot from this age. Kudos to you Joyce xx
