About This Poem

In A Heart's Trace

In A Heart’s Trace When my weak heart is replaced Would I still recognize the love on your face? When they take my heart out from its place Would you still fill in that space? When they take my heart away Would our memories choose to stay? Would they wait for my new heart to adjust? A true love that became us When they give me a new heart Would I still be feeling that same spark? From a heart’s trace I seem to think so Because we only love with the soul

Ahh!! I don't think that the human fleshly muscle pump is our heart but our spirit is what is love..Great work..I hope that you are not facing heart surgery to get a new heart but this is just metaphoric..Sara

Gail; My heart was taken out, but not replaced. They just worked on it and put it right back. A very touching poem. Thanks for sharing. Lucilla

This write struck a chord within me and reverberated, "Would our memories choose to stay?" I wonder if that is true! I hadn't thought about an old girlfriend in a long time and wondered if she still had memories of us even if she doesn't have my heart, nor I hers! Yeah, I don't think of these thing very often, I am married, and I don't need my ex in my life, but there still are memories of her that we shared! This poem just made me think, does she remember too? Anyway, this is Awesome Work!!
