About This Poem

Jester

What a buffoon, an obtuse soul exclaims,
As two hearts collide, bursting into flames.
What humiliation, as this jester heart laughs,
Offended, as fickle love drives piercing shafts.
Reverently beseeching can this clown be saved?
Or lifespan imprisonment adoration enslaved.
Supplications to Eirene, Goddess of peace,
Make these detrimental feelings cease.
But yet a reckless heart, continues to love,
Stubborn ardor finds no intrusions from above.
