laughter surrounding,
held back tears,
a look of defiance,
mocking jeers,
walking away now,
followed by shouts,
head held high,
needing a way out,
whispers so loud,
curious glances,
wanting to run,
taking chances,
finding seclusion,
writing at last,
wondering if,
this confusion will pass,
feeling too hated,
not eating a bite,
sitting alone,
as typical nights,
not wanting to go,
afraid of the crowds,
and scornful echos,
a lonely facade,
of content confidence,
damaged heart so flawed,
wishing they wouldn't,
wanting for strength,
feeling so distant,
hot tears escape,
