About This Poem
32 Candles
A gentle inferno
Narcoleptic sways against theoretical emptiness
Make your wish
20 feet, unfathomed, under a sea of
Distant memories
Shallow, cold
Shoulder
Should’ve been around to say goodbye
Captured by infatuated honeymoons
The toddler holds on to beautiful disasters,
A succulent leech
Rusty dagger detaches friendship’s umbilical c(h)ord
Crux of sunlight,
Blinding retina realities
Equalized uncertainty, denied
Accepting statutory lies
Under routine 35mm flickers
Blow them out
Another plastic cylinder
Holding cremated scars
Against karma’s slumber
The cries of yester,
Ignored by corroded iambic
Another atheist inhales for breathless moments,
Stroking flaccid serenity
Born again,
Unto a nameless morrow
Exhale
