I also thought of a vigil or sorrowful symbolism when I saw this title. But the truth is so much better. The more I read the more I like your style. Great work!

Your 1st two suggestions is kind of a little bit of both, but not so much literal as just it "feeling" like I was there. Yes, the truth was much harsher. Thank you so very much, Gina! :)

This is an interesting take on life and birthdays. The 35mm flickering resonated with me. Sometimes looking back over my life feels like watching an old 35mm. Well done Drake.

Drake, i am happy to see all your work pleases you... lol, i hope so, or why post it at all. The title of this poem has gotten my attention. First i thought of a vigil. Then i read the poem. every day is a new day to be reborn. we can endure so many bad moments in life, we can count every breath and mistake we make. We will never know if we will be born into this world every waking day. I don't feel the 32 years of birthday complete... just a big thanks to God, one made it that far... xox~PD

LOL hi again! :) Interesting you mention a "vigil". In a way, it kind of was. The poem was a dedication to an old friend that stopping being so without saying. Yet, when I had to walk away, I at least said "good bye for now". And, I did return. They couldn't do that much for me. So, I wrote this. Thank you so much, Linda!

Lots of very interestingly unique images in this one. It sounds like a birthday for someone. I wish it was for ME. Should have been more thankful for my 32nd!!!

Drake, is it your Birthday? If so, Happy Birthday, you whipper-snapper(lol). This is quite the phantasmagoric ride of introspection(hmmm, not sure if that is even the right word?). A strong ending....and all it took was a single word.
