About This Poem
My Nightmare - number 1
I'm laying on an inflatable raft just off the beach's shore.
The motion of the water relaxes me as I've never been before.
The warmth of the sun shining on me
drifts me off to a deep sleep eventually,
and as I lay there adrift
the current slightly shifts
and drifts me out further slowly to sea.
With a splash on my face
I immediately awake
to choppy water and a thunderous roar.
A storm is brewing
and I'm in the middle of the ocean
with absolutely no sight of any shore,..
..and if that isn't enough,
I can't get out of my head the theme from JAWS.
