Tears From A Hero
Tears From A Hero
Tears from a hero
Fall from a different place
Even though they are safely back home
Scars have remained from a war’s trace
Tears from a hero
Left a place damaged with translucent stains
Their soul’s window
Of a war that forever remains
Eyes of a hero
Shows a war that never ends
For years later the war zone
Flashes back time and time again
A voice from a hero
Relays messages from the war
It is their way of letting us know
What it is that they are still fighting for
Tears of hero
Shed for those courageous men
Who never made their way back home
And to their loved ones whose hearts are forever broken
Tears of a hero
Reflect permanent scars where they fall
From whence they suffered long ago
Courageous souls left still fighting through it all
