Gods in this universe

Gods are lovers, the senses, heavens and shapes in the clouds,
the mother, the father and what slips between becomes another,
locked with them in wildness, feeling the stroke of blood,
drenched in the sweat of touches,
describing forms meant only for the gasp of recognition’s
dark flight to no–thought,
without resistance because that’s where my god is,
deep in that mine where light is far away,
and god the god is there waking me saying,
“Take me, I am yours.”

jack, it was a nice surprise to find this poem was yours! I didn't have a clue who'd written it, but I thought to myself "this was written by a deep and profound thinker"...there is quite an erotic quality to the first six lines, which then shifts to a spiritual tone in the last four lines; a most original and intriguing piece - congrats on your win in my contest :)

I'm taking myself back to your first poem... AGAIN! lol, wow, I stormed this poem with a nice welcome, then I gave your poem the first review, then I came back to congratulate the force and love of God, while it was a featured poem. Jack, coming back to this one. I love the way you embraced the line.... god the god is there waking me saying, “Take me, I am yours.” graceful ... always~ LINDA

It's a long way from haiku, that's for sure. This is the first time I've looked at it in months.

For someone who is very spiritual but doesn't want to be part of an organized religion, especially the conditioning aspects of organized religion, and the static definitions of "God", this poem really spoke to me. I am browsing through your poetry. It is lovely to stumble across a new Souper who actually knows how to write poetry. A belated welcome to the Soup!

My attitudes about religion match yours. And thanks very much for the compliment. Jack
