"trees are standing" initially this line is happy, but with the context you make me feel sad and nostalgic. Christmas holds a lot of memories for me... and each year it ends I have that distinct longing in me to become a child once again. VERY nice haiku... I love it!

Yes, and we will be decorating another batch coming up soon again...as time flies anymore! This is a special Haiku, one that I am enamored by my friend! I really enjoyed reading this tremendous and outstanding poem this evening! What a tender and touching piece, Great Work!!

Good one David, I have an artificial one myself. It's still pretty once I get it all decorated but without the hassle of watering and picking up the dead needles. Great Haiku!

I haven't put one up in years, though I did help my Sister dress her's this year. I find it sad to see the trees after Christmas, put of the curb to be picked up. Some communities collect and shred them for mulch... I wrote a book again lol Good haiku !! I saw it, thus my book comment lol

For me now..it can't get over fast enough & it could take New years with it too...[the tree leans/ against the porch rail--tinsel in the wind] Light & Love

We do look with different eyes at our surroundings - given the season. Thank you for your kind comment on my poem, The Chair, David. If I were a boy, I would have explored woodwork as a hobby - now I just love renovating old furniture. I had a desk which had dovetail joints - it lasted forever and I donated it to a school eventually. Wishing you a peaceful Sunday. :-)
